Temporary closure of city farm at Blacon Adventure Playground

The city farm at Blacon Adventure Playground will be temporarily closed until further notice.

Cheshire West and Chester Council, Defra, APHA and the UK Health Security agency (UKHSA) have put local measures in place in West Cheshire after cases of avian influenza H5N1 (also known as Bird Flu) were identified at a single premises in the Great Barrow area.

The measures include a protection and surveillance zone aimed at stopping any spread of the disease.

The council is reassuring residents that the risk to the public remains very low, and the rest of the adventure playground site will remain open as usual.

The safety of our residents and staff remains our top priority and the farm will remain closed while the restrictions are in place.
